Start as an egg on the lake bed and live a whole fish life in one run: fry in summer, juvenile in autumn, adult under the winter ice — and, if you make it, spawn the next generation.
Guide your fish with a finger and tap for a dash. Hide the eggs from scouting predators, keep your school of fry together, slip through fishing nets and avoid lures and hooks. Eat to grow: anything smaller than you is food, anything much bigger is a threat. In winter, watch your oxygen under the ice.
At the start of autumn, choose your path — Hunter, Filter Feeder or Ambusher — and after each stage pick one of three mutations for body, senses or metabolism. Your choices decide which of eight species your fish becomes, from perch and carp to pike and catfish.
