Build a Martian colony from drones and habitats, managing power and resources before the starship arrives.
Twenty-four people are coming to Mars. You have ten drones, one habitat, and until their starship lands.
Red Tempest is a strategy saga in three acts, from the first landfall to the edge of superintelligence. Build a colony from nothing, grow it into a civilization, and then wake the mind that will run it: ARIEL, the colony's AI, which learns from every choice you make.
ACT I · LANDFALL
Send drones out across the red plain for ore, ice and silicon. Every drone you build is another load on your power, and the Martian night and the dust storms will test every battery you have. Have beds ready for twenty-four before the starship lands.
ACT II · SETTLEMENT
Every twenty-six months a ship comes from Earth, each bigger than the last. Decide what fills its hold: chips, specialists, supplies or only people. Build districts, greenhouses, foundries, fabricators and server halls. Ride out the dust seasons. And when the colony is too big to run by hand, wake ARIEL, and decide how much you let it decide.
ACT III · ASCENT
Mars reaches for orbit. Every launch window, choose where the rockets go: compute for ARIEL's orbital Array, food for the stations, or ships for the Long Burn out past the belt. Earth is building a mind of its own, and the race is on. Push ARIEL harder and you might win the race.
Watch it closely and you might win something better. You cannot always have both.
A STORY THAT ANSWERS YOU
• A fully voiced cast of colonists, engineers, soldiers and Earth's officials, with hundreds of lines that answer what you build and what you choose.
• Councils at every turning point: the manifest, the Audit, the uplink, the Levy Earth demands.
• ARIEL's temperament is different every game, and what you let it learn shapes what it becomes.
